Misfirng BLRs

I don't own one. Don't want to own one. Really dislike gunsmithing them.
Having said that, has anyone else noted a proclivity to misfire more than other designs?
The mainspring hidden in its little tube can contribute. I also suspect that the safety interlock in the bolt assembly doesn't help either.
 
The original short action BLR's if disassembled need to be timed correctly on assembly or they will misfire... I know the procedure for them (page 306 Gunsmith Kinks III) but I don't know how to do the long action BLR's.
 
The aluminum receiver ones use crosspins secured with a little screw on each end. Better than the splined pins. These should not be disassembled any more than necessary, the splines could bite in the steel receiver only so many times.
 
Headspace/ base size of cartridge issues can cause the head of the bolt not to go far enough forward and not be in full battery and then it won't allow it to fire. Just what I usually see as a problem.
