Missing norc recoil spring plug

Hey folks I was working on my norc 1911 and in a moment of dumbness managed to launch my recoil spring plug into the oblivion of the dark regions of my studio. Regardless i can't find it = cant shoot it either. Are these replaced by any aftermarket part or is it a norc spec item. Should I get a new barrel bushing while I'm at it?

A standard plug will work fine. Replacing the bushing with a fitted one may improve accuracy.

Norc barrel bushings are WAY out of spec and so are there barrel links. Not sure what model you have but Freedom Ventures can special order you custom fit bushings from EGW. I have one coming for mine, between the barrel to bushing clearance and bushing to slide clearance I had a total of .016" clearance lol, I will be down to approximately .002" when my new bushing gets here.

Try Brownells for a standard recoil spring plug if you can't find one locally.

If it didn't ping off any walls or the ceiling there is a pretty good chance of finding it.

A PA magnetic wand is a good investment.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll just order a new one. I'm leave the bushing alone since accuracy is phenomenal by my standards and definitely shoots better than me
