Just as the title asks, is there a good magazine out there for this Savage rimfire? The stubby, ugly thing actually caught my eye and I already have some nice CZ's - was thinking about it as a knockabout quad rifle... Maybe even the Landry edition ;)

I have 1-5rd and 2-10rd Savage mags and they haven't given me any trouble in the 2000 or so rounds I've fired from my Mark II FV. They are metal, unlike some other brands.

I have never had a problem with any of my Savage mags. You might be very shocked in the accuracy of these rifle once you do some tweaks to the trigger and stock ( I have mine bedded in a Boyd's with the Apache trigger kit ) With all these mods it came well under the price of a CZ and the accuracy I am getting was well above my CZ's that I sold them.

I'd be willing to bet most savage problems mentioned are from the rounds ejecting caused by the feed lips being to far apart. A very simple fix with a light squeeze on a pair of pliers. All my 22wmr mags did this and now run flawlessly.

From perusing the interwebs I gathered that the factory mags where of questionable reliability? Am I off base with this? I don't have any Savage rimfires to gauge from....

I have a Mark II GL. Same action / mags as the FV-SR. I have two of the savage "mini banana" 10 rounders. They balked a little bit for the first ten rounds and after that not a single problem.
