Love this thread. Looking forward to building my own MK12 clone someday.
BCM now offers a MK12 Mod 0 rifle or just the upper, hopefully Arms East can bring them in the near future, also with the new Rainier Arms and CTCS partnership, you can order Rainier ultra match grade 18" SPR barrels at really decent prices.
Those would be great for "near" clones. I think the Douglas stainless barrel on the HCS or Centurion Arms MK 12 uppers are the key to a true MK12 clone. Centurion also sells the barrels for builds. Talk to an importer.

Interesting that BCM shows the FDE Mk12 with a Vltor eMod Stock and not the standard A2
I'm loving this. Always liked the Mod0 but couldn't be bothered to undertake a long and strenuous build. Hopefully these make an appearance

That would be perfect, on the basis of not having to source out all of the parts individually for a build. The only things I would change on the BCM MK12 variant would be the stock and the grip...simple enough to convert to an A2, and more like an original MK12. And as for the grip, realistically, you don't need the reduced angle grip for shooting prone...this is not gonna' be your CQB rifle, that's for sure...a standard A2 or upgraded unit would do just fine.
