The specs at the beginning of the thread would qualify how accurate a mk12 clone would be. Navy and spec ops mk12's Start with the Douglas 18 inch barrel with a rifle length gas system.

Thought I'd gice this thread a bump.

I've jist finished my Mk18 mod 0 build, or at least I've gotten to a point where I'm satisfied that I don't need to tinker with it much more, but I've developed another itch.

Currently, I've got two 20in ARs, an SA20/C7 clone, and a PWS with a Colt HBar barrel.

I remember how much of a collosal pain in the #### it was sourcing parts for my Mk18 built, and I have a feeling building a Mk12 could be worse?

Anyway, hope to get into this soon and maybe see more builds here.
 
I suggest you go with version with kac mk12 rail. Carbon is nice and all but proper swan sleeve is impossible to get. Also difficult to get mk12 brake in canada. Easy source is brownells but that import permit cost hurts.

Mod 1 rails are hard to come by as well... easiest way would be to get the complete upper built by High Caliber Sales down in the states that's what I did, had to wait but top notch work

Yeah, the more I research, the more I get depressed, lol!

The KAC rail is a ton of money despite the fact that everyone and their uncle want keymod or mlok...


The PRI handguard looks pretty awesome as well, but equally pricy.

And trying to source that swan sleeve looks downright impossible.....bloody hell. Lol!

Any word on those complete BCM uppers being available in Canada?

*edit* nevermind. I see those are sold out even on BCM's website.

OSS has the KAC mk12 rail....ouch...$427 and that's the sale price.....

My take on the mk12. First thing Samson rail has to go asap loading the bipod will change poi. KAC rail or PRI next.


Optic is wrong but works well. NF 3.5/15. Offset irons are handy too. Padded vickers sling

Loves 75 gr steel match or tap

The worst part I found is finding the a1 lower to make it super legit.... if you are super serious about a mk12 build pm me mines just been sitting in the safe since I got it and I may be tempted to part with it

Ok, I admit, I didn't even bother with the A1 lower for my Mk18 build, that takes an extra level of OCD. It took a lot of begging, pleading and heartache trying to find the other detaila, but I'm more or less satisfied.

I'm afraid to ask what you'd be asking, but what the hell, ever hurts to ask.

I've been scrolling through the 800 some odd pages on ARF and it boggles the mind, lol!

I have sinking feeling that a lot of parts will be almost as impossible to source as with my Mk18 (Wilcox aimpoint mount and CQD sling plate were not easy to find).
