Hey Everyone, I was reading some posts on a guy with a ph5 sight and he was talking about how it was for MKVII ball ammo. I have a PH4 sight that I am trying to use for target shooting and I was wondering what difference the MKVII ammo is compared to let say 180 FMJ new ammo. Will that change the amount of minutes of trajectory I use when shooting new ammo. Do I throw the numbers on the sight "out of the window"? I really want to start utilizing my nice sights but it always seems to be a bit of a mystery as to what is best. I really don't know a lot about it so any advice would be great.

P.S. Can I reload something similar to the MKVII ammo with new equipment, bullets etc.?

Thanks again

The range calibrations are only approximations at best. Forget them. The minute scale is the one to use. If you have a ballistics table for the ammunition, you can determine the settings in minutes of angle - or at least settings close enough to allow you to refine them by shooting. Once you have established your "come ups" in minutes, you are away to the races. I'm not aware of any 174 gr. flat based bullets available for handloading, so making an exact duplicate of the Mk. VII cartridge would be difficult.

Thanks

Where would I find a ballistics table. What I like to use for target shooting is a Remington FMJ. Does remington have a ballistics chart, and if so, how would I read or calculate it in to how I adjust my micrometer sight? Thanks again for the reply.
