I was at the range last weekend working on some of my target loads. I had 3 Lee Enfields out and my Mosin Nagant 91/30. I shot the MN last and was using multiple targets for my 50 hand loaded rounds. When I pulled the sheets at the end of the shoot, I found that I had 7/50 rounds on target!
Now before the usual smart ass comments about marksmanship appear, I was firing at 100m and my LE's all hit 50/50.
I slugged my bore and it came to .312 so my load out was:
Primer: Winchester Large Rifle
Brass: Winchester
Powder: IMR 4064
Bullet: Hornady 174 gr. 303 British (.312) RN
I did 10 groups of 5 rounds starting with 42 grains and ending with 46.5 (every 5 rounds I increased the grainage by .5 grains.) The temperature was +5 and there was no crosswind.
Any ideas?
