MO marking on TT33

I'm not an expert but this most likely is "Milicja Obywatelska" (Citizen Police is an exact translation) ownership stamp.

MO use to have a lot of those in stock along with Makarovs,P-64,PPS43 etc.

I guess they sold them off to fund new Glocks and Walthers P99.

Wow this is first time I hear this. It make sense for Citizen Police althoug maybe. For a while the thought was that MO would stand for (Ministerstvo Oborony) minestry of defence. Now with sourses of all dates that are available on the net it was concluded that MO markings are not ownership stamps, because Ministerstvo Oborony did not exist in 1953. The conclusion was that this mark means(Modernized Obrazets) ie modernized unit and the year of modernization.
But what I'm after is there any other examples/ dates on Tokarev pistols that are here in Canada? Or other firearms like Mosins or SVT40 or M1895 nagants?

MO in Poland it was the for the Milicja Obywatelska (Citizens Police) In Russian it stood for Ministerstwo Obrony but it also meant the same thing in Polish. Misterstwo Obrony did exist in Poland since 1946 till 1946 it was called the Department of War.

Ah ok. I never knew that Poland had something similar as MO markings on their firearms. I was generally referring to Soviet stuff. Would love to see any Polish toks with MO markings.

By the way Corwin-arms did you get that SVT 40 trigger group I was looking for? ;) Thanks

Many theories on the soviet MO markings, but none has been proven or confirmed with proper documentation up to now.

I sold one recently, MO marked Dated 1943/53

Interesting, do anyone would know the signification of the marking on mine, I never found anything on it, it is a Izhevsk arsenal 1945, not much fired, with a ''ARZ'' marking on the left side of the slide, there is also a ''K+5'' on the trigger guard ?? :
