Moa adjustments to 1000 yards

Hello all,

Im new to CGN and was wondering if anyone could help me out.
Im looking for MOA adjustments from 100 yard zeros for 3 calibers.
223, 308 win and 300 WM.
Any help would be appreciated.
The 223 is exiting a 24 in barreled Tikka Tactical
The 308 are exiting a 20 in LTR and a 24 inch Savage 10FCP.
The 300 WM is exiting a 26 in 700P.

All are federal cartridges 69gr 223, 168 and 175 308, and 190 300WM. All BTHPMK's
 
Do a google search for JBM ballistic software. It is awesome freeware that gives very good ballistic data.

You can input or change a variety of parameters to see how that affects you bullets flight.

You will need velocity for all of your rifles. Most of the bullets listed are already in the data base making BC calcs way easier.

I am not sure if your stubby barrels could produce enough velocity for 1000 yards.:p
I do know the 168's are about the worst bullet made for .308 for 1000 yards. They were designed in the 60's for 300 ISU shooting.
The JBM online ballistics calculator that Jerry mentioned is very good.
 
168 gr Sierra's are great up to 600 yards and useless at ranges beyond that.

For target shooting I suggest 155 gr Lapua Scenar or 155 gr Sierra HPBT.

I know the stubby LTR will give me problems but the other rifles are 24 and 26 inches should they not be able to reach out to 1k.

Thats funny, last week I was shooting the 168's, HPBT out to a 1000 yrds and did fine. The term useless is a broad statement.
 
Although I have switched to heavier bullets, I have had reasonable success with 168's; Sierra MK's, Hornady Int'l Match, and Nosler J-4's at ranges out to 850 yards. According to my ballistic software, when loaded to 2600, the Sierra version remains supersonic to about 920 yards at sea level. I have a theory that when shot out of a fast twist barrel, a bullet is less likely to destabilize as it moves through the transonic range, but I will have to do more shooting to prove it, and I still have a few 168's on my bench.

It is interesting that with the passage of time the maximum range of the 168 gr match bullet has decayed from 800 to 600 yards. Although I have some success shooting 168's beyond 800, the dictum, friends don't let friends shoot 168's at 1000 still stands.
 
I get about 2650 out of my .308 with the 165gr MK's and I can reach out to 1000yds, mind you the range I shoot at is at 4500ft and that helps.
 
1000 Meters

308 cal you could also try the 155 Palma Sierra, they will reach to that range.
The 223; if there's any wind sounds like a lot of frustration.
300 cal the 180, 190 & 200 Sierras will work.
 
I have done a lot of 1000 yard shooting with all three calibers. In 223 the Sierra 80 works. The 69 would work, sort of, in a dead calm. The 80 groups slightly bette than the 155 in a 308. In a 308 you want to shoot the 155 or the 175 or 190. The 168 is not a good choice.

In 300win mag you can shoot the 190 or 200.

I use 30" and 32" match quality barrels. Velocities are around 2950 to 3000 fps in all 3 calibers.

The computer will give you an idea of elevation. In practice, you find out on the range.
