I know what it stands for but what is it ? My Rifleman scope by Luepy has on the dials 2moa and I am not sure what that means . I think it is two inches at 100yrds per click is that right . I managed to sight my scope in by trial and error , but I would like to know.
Thanks in advance for your help

1 MOA is really close to 1" @ 100 yards , 2" @ 200 yards etc.
3 MOA means that the point of aim changes 2" @ 100 yards, 4" @ 200 yards etc.

Are you sure it ain't .2 (POINT TWO) moa? I'd be surprised if a high end scope had less than half minute clicks, most are quarter minute (or .2, 1/8th etc).

"MOA is a unit of angular measurement, equal to one sixtieth (1/60) of one degree. Since one degree is defined as one three hundred sixtieth (1/360) of a circle, 1 MOA is 1/21600 of the amount of arc in a closed circle, or (π/10800) radians"

It is NOT one inch at 100 yards... just works out to be very very close to that.

Have a boo at this:

Which is why I wrote

is interesting but useless to a shooter on the range adjusting his scope.

If I had of known that math was going to be used for shooting....

They use math for other stuff now?

If you like that check out mil-dot reticles and all the fun math you can do there...

I checked again and it said 2MOA on both dials and I even checked to see if it was a rifleman scope and that is what the box said so I don't know

I did look into the mildot thing and I need some one to teach me I am not sure I can teach this MOA thing myself as is usually what I do maybe get a book or a video
thanks TAC
