Ok I want a REAL suppressor so bad I can taste it, but alas... No dice here in Canada... So I am strongly considering a threaded 1911 barrel from Fusion parts and am looking for a mock 45 suppressor... Am I foolish? I have seen claims that the added weight will help reduce muzzle climb and recoil thereby allowing faster follow up shots, but is this just trying to justify a device purely design for looks? Geez Canada needs to get with the times so I can shoot safely...and be cool with a legit sound reducing device!!

Hey there is nothing wrong with doing it for the looks, we all buy eye candy once in a while. And yes the added weight will reduce time for followup shots, its one of the small reasons police and military like them. Plus if they ever become legal, you'll be used to it, and already have the threaded barrel

If you have the threaded barrel you dont need to find one. Just get a say 6 inch length on 1 1/4" by .065 or .120 wall steel tube. Get an 1 3/8" hole saw and cut out 2 pieces of 1/4" steel and get them tig welded to the pipe. Drill and tap one end to thread on and drill a 5/8" or 3/4" hole in the other end and put it on. If you want some cool effects, drilla couple of 1/4" holes in the top of it to get some flame action too

If you want a fake can, you aint gonna get any easier than my idea, and because its made from mild steel, threading is as easy as a tap of the appropriate size
