The WSSM cartridges are dead. It's a nice rifle but I'd maybe only pay $400-$450 for the package you listed because of the obsolete and difficult to find round. Rebarreling is difficult because of the short action and large bolt face required on WSSM cartridges.

Sold my 223 wssm 6 or 7 years ago for same reason. Was an easy sell, some guys out west still like to use them. I also thought the ammo would get hard to find but I still see it at a couple of my local gun stores.

Hey thanks for the replies here- i over looked that intitally, i forgot the action will also be super small, bolt face super large and not much room to do much, i guess if rebarreling had to happen, is there something wide enough to take away half of that shoulder to make feeding nicer, but is it enough powder to project a pill fast enough..... thinking 338-358-375 WSSM......... say i had a spare $600 to rebarrel down the road..

how is WSSM bras in CANADA? if i jump on it , i would just have to go on a brass hunt an then import some... hmmm a 243 sounds alot easier down the track if i run into feeding trouble or BRASS scarcity...
i may talk him down some too :D a gun nutter would do that

I don't see one advantage that the 243WSSM offers over the std 243Win except extra costs and hassles. Why bother? .......... It's not that cool. :)

A 6.5CM or 243Win would be better practical choices by far and a 257Roberts would be waaaaaaay cooler than both.

There isn't any...but sometimes you just want to buy a project gun.
