Hi Guys,

So I was sick of the limited variety of grips we have for our CZ's and I didn't want to remove the stock retaining plate for the cz grip so I slightly modded a few AK grips and they work LIKE A CHARM!!

First off they are not real wood. One is some type of Hard Plastic, the other two are some wood infused type of plastic. All three were modded the same and fit super tight.

Everyone needs one in my opinion. It is a vast upgrade to the puny small grip on the CZ. It instantly give you a much greater area to grip and feels a lot more secure in your hands.

Excuse my pics they were taken with a computer webcam. I will take better ones if you guys are interested when I get my camera back.

The steps are like so:

Take the cz grip and the ak grip and put them flush together against their tops like so

Trace the cz grip on the AK grip. Next you take a cutting disc on a dremel tool and cut at the lines you traced. Make a recess in the top of the grip the height of the retaining plate on the rifle. Keep removing material and fitting. Try to make straight cuts and use a vice and a steady hand for a better finish.

That is pretty much the jist of it. The AK grip screw is a must to fit properly. I did three. I am putting one in the EE and keeping the other two.

Here is the one in the EE with screw

nice work, looks great. now you need an ak stock to match

Thanks. It was pretty fun to do. I agree an AK stock would be nice. If I could just get the stock screw off to remove my stock. I cannot find the right tool. I tried a tire iron and it was too narrow. Then I went and bought a huge chisel that looked like it was the right width and length and it didn't work. I am running out of options here.

So I got around to taking better pics. Here they are,

I am going to try doing some more soon. I'll post those when I do them.

How I did it: Gave it to my body builder friend. Took him 2 seconds. Just had to feed him some protein and endure the smell of his farts.

Awesome work, sell me one? :D

lol. I found the proper head that fit into a socket and got it out in one min. You will notice the folding stock on it now. I only have the one on the rifle and another one. I am pretty fond of them. I don't have the heart to sell it right now. I wouldn't mind trading for some wood furniture for the cz though. If I decide to sell it I will let you guys know.

Nice mod, bud!

My stock screw just would NOT come off. I got pissed after dicking with it for over an hour or so and cut the stock off right near the screw head

I then threaded the center hole in the screw & red lock-tited an Allen bolt into its gullet. No more of that bull for Petey LOL

Too bad the grip and the stocks are the only successful parts that can be modded to fit. Ak hand guards are too short to fit from picture comparison. but.........The new compact csa rifles have small hand guards and I bet that ak hand guards could be further shortened to fit with some elbow grease and fine dremeling. That should be a fun project.

So many of you asked me about the grips so I put the last of the three in the EE. I don't even have one for myself. But it was fun doing them so I will try to do more at a later point. Here is the last one.

soooo....my obsession with grips has truly gone out of hand. I did up a wood one a while ago but I couldn't get the finished as perfect as I wanted. I took a stab at it again. I bleached this laminated one 2x with oxi clean and then followed a good set of instructions on how to stain it. You be the judge. I love it.

I also, had some grips that I wanted to try stippling. The first one I used a more square head and it came out with a snake skin type finish. The second...a yugo, I used a sharp head. I like the first one more. I also hit it with ceramic engine header paint. It is matte city. Just thought I would share. This is a lot of fun.
