Model 14 1/2 remington

I bought a Dominion of Canada marked 14 1/2 in 44-40 off a buddies Grandpa for $75 years ago. He set the price. Was my first pistol caliber rifle and was a fun little iron. I sold it for enough to buy a Marlin 1894 in 44 Mag. Good deal all around.

was told about a model 14 1/2 that was chambered too 44 mag from 44-40 and the action is holding up fine ,, must be a tough gun .. anyway i bought a 14 1/2 but doubt i will rechamber it 44 mag LOL

I have one that was rebarreled by the Ontario prison system to 44 magnum. Apparently they did a few because 44/40 was getting hard to find. It's a slick little 18.5 inch gun.

That would be a neat gun for sure,, easy too get ammo ,,, and not just any one has one .. Might be a bit pricey too have done but the govt would not care :))) ,, But I did not know the govt even used them in the prison system
