A couple of very nice Colt's, thanks for sharing the pictures...it is always a treat to see original Colt's in original condition.
I had an opportunity to pick up a later production (110 years later) 1862 Police, very good shooter and good looking gun.

Very beautiful looking '62 Police revolver Skinny 1950.

Interesting that Colt only produced approx 100 fluted cylinder '61 Navy Revolvers S/ns 1-100 (approx) with the same cylinder marking 'Pat Sept 10th 1850' as is seen on the 1862 Police revolvers.

Another fluted cylinder .36 caliber revolver that was produced in limited number during the 1863-65 period---- not by Colt.

The Remington-Rider D/A New Model Belt Revolver.

The barrel address on these revolvers--MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTON’S, ILION , N.Y./RIDER’S PT. AUG. 17, 1858, MAY 3, 1859. (Difficult to photograph.)

In William B. Edward’s Book ‘Civil War Guns’ published in 1982 there is a reference to ‘cased sets being popular with officers in the field.’

When I was researching the revolver shown above Roy Marcot directed me to a major Remington collector in Texas---the cased revolvers shown below belong to this fellow---he has several cased Remington-Rider New Model D/A Belt Revolvers---fluted and non fluted cylinder examples.

Two references to these revolvers in ‘Flayderman’s Guide to Antique American Firearms’ 9th Edition--- and Robert M. Reilly’s Book ‘United States Military Small Arms 1816-1865.’

These three reference books.

Nice piece oldiron---thanks for posting the photos.

The longer barrel '62s like the example shown in your photos are probably the nicest of the Colt percussion revolvers.
