I am trying to restore a model 1899 Krag /Spring field carbine, in 30-40 cal.

The rifle was made in 1901. The parts I am looking for are:

1) a back site with a "c" stamped in it. The mounting screws as well.
2) a hand guard that is made to fit the back site for the carbine above.
3) the proper replacement barrel and front site for the 1901 carbine in cal. 30-40 Krag.

Any help with these parts or a whole rifle, would be appreciated.
Thanks
Doug

Doug.
Check with S&S firearms in New York for your hand gaurd. You may get lucky they may even have a rear sight. The barrel will be mostly impossible to find. I had 3 variations of the Krag carbine in the collection adn now have just the '99, all original. No spare parts left though.
Good luck on your search.

Hi Doug.......

Saw your request........

The real carbine sight is hard to find. I'm not sure if you need any close up pics of an "all correct" Krag Carbine to help your restoration project, but I've provide links to mine in case they might be of some help.

The two best collector's reference books on Krags are William S. Brophy "The Krag Rifle" or Frank Mallory's "Krag Rifle Story" (out of print).

Hope this helps ......... :)
