I had the privilege of handling a Winchester M21 Trap gun in a Vancouver gun shop last week. I saw it on a website and made a point to see it. I was disappointed when I arrived and heard it was sold, but relieved it was still there. It lasted about a week and was listed @ $3500.
Gorgeous lines and wonderful to point, I'm sure there was drool pooling on the floor. Nice piece, from another time.

No drooling, but it brings back fond memories of my dad's m-21. I shot my first 25 straight with it. He sold it in Vandalia a few years before he passed. I know Claybuster will compare the 21 to the fine English doubles and think of her as fat betty at a beauty pagent, but for me fat will always be beauitifull.
She must have been well worn to go as low as $3500.00.

That was my reaction when I saw a 21 on a gun rack in the U.K. but it's not a fair comparison.

The 21s are designed for a different market and a different role than the English guns. Beautiful is not only in the eye of the beholder it's time and place. Most English guns wouldn't be as beautiful in a duck blind on Lake Erie as a Model 21.

And it is possible to buy a new Model 21. The CMSC guns are very well regarded. http://www.connecticutshotgun.com/

I saw that 21 when it went up for sale. Would have bought it, too, if I had another $3500 to invest in a gun I'd almost never shoot. I never handled it in person but, in the picture, it looked so good that, at first, I thought it was a Winchester marketing image. Wasn't, though - you could see the hang tag attached to the trigger guard.

Current blue book on that grade in that condition is $6000. I've seen the identical gun selling for much more in the States. Even in Canada, that was a good buy at $3500.

Where did you see that gun advertised? When I first saw the post, I thought that for $3500.00 it might have been rode hard and put away wet. It is probably good that I did not see it. I am a little impulsive and might have ended up with something I would really not have much need for. Good to see that there are still good deals out there!:)
