Model 25 winchesters

I have noticed that. I have owned a few and they are not a Model 12 by any stretch. I always found the slide handle "springy" when operating the gun. The versions with modified chokes are the hardest to find. Still I hunted one with the Weaver tube system on it one fall and it did what it was supposed to do. Winchester did not put much thought into the way the mag tube was affixed to the barrel. That was an ugly part of the gun. The much maligned two piece firing pin seems to hold up OK much to the critics complaints.

A fine shotgun, a bit light which is a good thing at times. Punishing to fire higher volumes of heavy field loads. Built with 1950's Winchester quality. Not too many around but they do show up time to time at auctions and such. Most are overpriced IMO...
