I am looking for a S&W model 29 6 1/2 blued but no local shops seem to stock anything but the 629. Is the classic 29 a poor seller and that's why nobody has any in stock? I've always wanted one and even the sales fellows don't know why they only have the 629.

lol, no its not a poor seller, if your looking for an vintage 70s model 29, they are just hard to find as they are very sought after. Now, if your looking for the newer model 29-10, then we are talking something different.

I picked up a 100% mint 29-2 just over a month ago from a dealer. Someone else beat me to it but it was just past closing and then they didn't call the dealer back with their info the next day so I happened to phone back just to make sure it was sold and BAM........MINE! I still can't believe the condition, immaculate. Keep looking because they DO pop up, it just takes alot of looking and waiting and keeping enough $$ set aside to 'pop' on one when it shows.

I just got a pretty mint looking 29-2 as well, vintage 1976. 8 & 3/8 bbl, its at the post office now, will get it Monday! I have been looking for awhile, i wanted a 6.5 inch bbl but this gun was in too good a shape to pass up. Now i have never owned one, so its possible i may not like it, but we will see lol.
