Model 617-6 S&W

I was looking at a model 617-6 S&W in 22 LR today. ($870 new)I think I have to have this gun as the only other 22 revolver I have is an old Iver Johnson. Any comments on the performance of this handgun? This gun is stainless steel. Does model 617 indicate that or is there a blued version?

I've been watching the EE for months for a 617. and everytime one comes up it's gone in less then 2 hours!!... so I still don't have one .

maybe I'll have to get a new one once my tax return comes back

I've been using my 16-7 S&W now for a couple of weeks, not only does it shoot well but everything feels right in the hand, its one very accurate and comfortable gun to shoot.

I have a 617 and love it, I just changed the sights on it to match my S&W 686, they a way easier to see now.
