Correct me if I am wrong, but the WSM supposedly did not fit into the Model Seven action. But now the .270 and .300 WSM are available in the Model Seven CDL. Has there been a change in the reciever/bolt of the Model Seven?

doubt it but Im not certain

I just dont think they were as optimum as the SAUM were

Model Sevens still have 2.8" mag boxes...

if the WSM's fit the short 700, they'll fit the Model Seven...mag length is the same at about 2.80-2.82"

The SAAMI OAL is 2.860" for the wsm family of cartridges. If the M700 and M7 have the same mag box the cartridges are not a great choice for either action.

not a great choice but they do fit,..I guess. Maybe the short 700/WSM's have a longer box?..but I seriously doubt it. I had a Model Seven in a 300 SAUM and IIRC I had to seat about .060" off the lands to fit the box. The WSM's would be like a 257 Roberts in a short 700...you'd probably be at least .100" from the lands to fit the box.Although the WSM chambers have very short throats.
