been out in some full on frost the other morning, didnt see any, the fog has been horible until almost midday.
anyway today i slept in- waited for the fog to clear and thaw out, an went for a quick stroll along a farm track that goes thru a bit of bush an a couple of hills,
slowly poking along, on a sunny ridge a yearling jumped up an run away a little, only 30 m up above the track, i raced up to a bit of an opening an could see across where it went to- i seen another deer , looking toward the yearlings comotion. i knelt down an twist the scope onto 7 - broad side deer in the scope , on the shoulder and pull the trigger.
150gr hot cor
deer lurched forward and made it about 70 meters down hill stumbling now and then, but i gave it a second shot (which hit the front leg/knee) so it wasnt needed in the end. deer expired real quick after its dash.
note- no blood trail even thru an thru, uphill angle so nice in the shoulder an high infront of shoulder opposite side.
haaaaaaaaappy days!
