I have two sets of mounts rings available for the model 7 if anyone has issues with availability

One piece steel base with dual dovetail blued with low rings Leupold new/new

And two piece turn in style stainless with medium rings Leupold new bases lightly used rings

Cheers

Yes, the early ones only had a single rear screw. Many 1-piece mounts for the 700 short fit the m7 aswell. Since the rear hole on a m7 is in the same place as the 700 sa front rear screw. About the same time Gentry offered his ultralight mounts that were two piece and only used the single rear screw and it seemed to work fine. So you could probably run most 2-piece mounts with only one screw in the rear bridge. But the best idea is to just have the second hole drilled and tapped for the added security.

Rem Model Seven w/ 2 drilled & tapped #6-48tpi holes in rear bridge/receiver ring.

Blued receivers w/ serial number higher than 773800
Stainless receivers w/ serial numbers higher than 762800

Previous serial numbered receivers have one drilled & tapped hole of which a 700 S/A 1 piece base will fit.

Either may require a shim under rear base to level w/ front base aka 722/721's.
