Model 70 Featherweight Facelift

Well what started life as a 270Win XTR Featherweight for 400$ turned into a bit of a love affair for me. It comes to shoulder more precisely than anything else I have owned and I really like the action. I had the trigger worked on a little bit prior to all of this cosmetic stuff so it was very crisp and clean on the break. It always shot well for me, under an inch, but I just never was a fan of the scratched up blueing and dinged up wooden stock.
I managed to get very lucky on a lightweight Wildcat Composites stock for it from a kind member on the EE, the stock was rough cosmetically with chipped paint and scratches but functioned fine. Next issue was the 30% blueing that remained on the rifle.

I ended up having the entire rifled action, bolt and Talley LW rings Cerakoted McMillan Grey. I then went ahead and had the stock hydro dipped in Kuiu Vias. I am sure its not everyone's taste, but then again, not everyone's rifle. Over the moon with it, and exactly what I had envisioned:




None of the work was completed by CGN sponsors, so I am afraid I cannot disclose here!
 
I like the stock, not sold on the painted metal but that is just personal preference...I haven't come around on the paint/coatings for metal yet lol

Good question, do not have a scale with that sort of resolution. My best response is light enough. The balance and shootability is good where it is. Will try and borrow a scale and let you know! The Model 70 is not considered a lightweight by any standard.
