OK, I can't believe I can't find anything on adjusting the MOdel 70 trigger. Is this a difficult job? best left to the pros? or can anyone smooth one out and bring it down to around 3 or even 4 pounds?

I have a 300wsm featherweight that is cursed with the worlds worst trigger...any ideas how to adjust it??

Best left too a pro, IMHO.

Adjusting the 'old' M70 trigger isn't like adjusting a 'housed' type trigger like a Rem, etc......

In all honesty the win 70 is a simple easy trigger. If you are at all mechanicaly inclined you can adjust this trigger yourself and be confident its right.
I should add I do not own a new 70 but a few older ones they have the double nuts on them, is this like yours..

You beat me to it, badbrass. Model 70 triggers are very simple to adjust. My last M-70 came from the factory with a robust 9lb pull  After busting the resin goop off the nuts, it was releasing the scale at 3lb in about 30 seconds :D

Thanks

Thanks guys. Mine is a 2005 or 2006 featherweight. (Yeah, I bought it in the rush thinking the model 70 was on it's way out). Kinda thought I'd just store it, but it's a tool with no sentimental value...so I guess she should get used. Hopefully she'll get me a buck or two this fall.
