I'm thinking of a new gun and this came across my mind. A model 700 Varmint Laminate Stock (Heavy barrel) in 22-250. I'm not here to discuss what's a better cartridge, just how people like their 700 VLS. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

I have one in 243 Win. A friend of mine has another in 223 Rem.
They are both very accurate out of the box. Heavy with a 26" barrel and lam stock but you already knew that.

I replaced the factory x Mark pro with a walker style trigger. The original trigger went down to about 2.5 lbs but was inconsistent. And if you used the safety before pulling the trigger it was a 3.5 lb pull. Some xmark pros adjust down fine. Others, not so well. It's a crap shoot imo

I have one in .204 Ruger. It has been a very accurate rifle. A beast to carry, but lots of fun at the bench. Even better since I swapped out the factory barrel with a custom Pac-Nor.

I've owned them in 220 Swift and 22-250. Right now I have one in 223, it was pretty accurate right out of the box as were the others but I've made a few changes. The trigger was second rate in my opinion so it got replaced with a Timney, I removed the barrel pressure point at the front of the stock, glass bedded the action and also lapped the bolt lugs. The front receiver bolts are usually a bit short on the heavy stocked rifles for my liking and only screw into the receiver by about 1 1/2 threads so I order a rear receiver bolt and grind it down to the proper length for the front and get about 5 threads into the receiver.
My rifle loves 50 grain TNT's and on windless days I've managed some 2 1/4 inch groups at 500 yards. Great gopher medicine!

I've got a couple; both in .223. One is stock is every way except bedding and a trigger adjustment. The other had a 1-8 Gaillard Palma contour barrel, blue-print and a Jewel.

The heavy stiff laminate stock is a better handle than most of the synthetics out there. The action is the action. It's pretty hard for them to not shoot.
