Model 870 Tac-14

Sure you did, but I think most would agree offering 500 bucks for something listed for 650 is an arguementative lowball offer.

And... I bought one off the EE for $500 shipped. Yours is still on the EE for $650 (was $700)

Look. This is how you build a 14" 870 for less than $650.

Wanstalls has a 18.5" 870 with standard cheap-o synthetic stock, 'tactical' forearm, and extra pistol grip for $399 + tax and shipping. So let's say $450 all-in. For the sake of argument a 18.5" express barrel sells for ~$150 (Dlask sells them for $170) and a 14" Rem barrel sells... I mean, it actually sells to a buyer for $250 shipped. Not sitting and getting bumped for 2 months.

$450 - $150 + $250 = $550 (sell the pistol grip and you'll be at $525)

Explain to me why I should pay an additional $125?

I shouldn't have to explain anything to you, you're not one of my kids? No worries, I've sold 3 of the 4 I had. Sounds like a lot of leg work, better get on it bro!

That's pretty sweet that you can make money on the EE. Good for you.
Careful lest the admin around here catch wind of it... oh and you also don't want the rcmp thinking you're running an unlicensed gun biz.

Because he's making money off it... hope that clears things up.

Isn't there some rules on profit seeking?

i just finished a Remington police model 870 with a 14 inch Remington barrel and my own handmade birds head grip from thorn wood. it has a plus one mag extension , a sling plate up front from automatic weaponry, a custom mag follower and heavy duty mag spring, and sling. i got to try it yesterday and it functions fine although it lacks in the pretty department as far as the grip goes . it is actually pleasant to shoot with some hot b.b. loads . to see the gun look under the moss berg shock wave coming to Canada soon post as my son posted some pictures for his computer illiterate father

Not seeking profit, just not willing to sell for less than it would cost me to replace...these were brand new guns, not cobbled together from scrounged parts.

Trying to copy the Mossberg shockwave? One thing is for certain the Mossberg Shockwave will work. The 870 is hit or miss with the quality of their products these days.

Had all the short stuff with the pistol grips including an 8.5. They're fun for a bit, but eventually went back to my 14" full stock. If I was going to rely on a gun against something that is going to gnaw on my ass, I'll take the full stock and proper aiming.

I like it. I prefer the Mossberg platform but I've shot 870's. If these come in country more reliably than the Mossberg Shockwave and at a competitive price, I'll pick one up. Here's the ad on their site:

You can put a full stock on this no problem (all my shorties have full stocks). It kind of defeats the purpose of buying a 26.3" boomstick though... shooting from the hip is fun as long as you aren't far away from the targets. Can always go back and forth...

the pistol grip 14 inch barrel seems to have enough length that it is shoot-able.it is something new to me and i am looking forward to playing with it.others have said about this style of gun it is a niche gun meant for short range but i will have to play with it to see were the limits are. if i get tired of it i will put the full stock back on but for the time being i am having too much fun.

Not in my experience. Mossbergs are the glocks of the shotgun world.

And in my experience you couldn't pay me to get another one... But to each his own...

I'm not big on the shorties but I might pick on of these up if they start hitting the EE after awhile for a good price

yes they are neat. I have a Mossy 590A1 now with 14 inch barrel and raptor grip, basically it is a shockwave. Still I have a full stock on it now as I find when using it, that its plenty short like that and much easier to be precise. Still with the raptor grip it would be a nice truck or camp gun, for home defense I guess too, but ya better practice with it so you can hit what your shooting at.
