Model 93 Spanish Mauser...

I had my hands on a lovely rifle today for a few shots. It was in "as new" condition and had some Farsi characters on the side of the receiver. I believe it was in 8mm. Can anyone give me some info? Can these be purchased surplus? Dave

Sounds like its actually a Turkish M1893 - either converted to 8mm or in the original 7.65mm. A Spanish Mauser shouldn't have Farsi (more likely Arabic) lettering on it.

I do believe you are correct. Any of these I have ever seen weren't worth bothering with. This one was mint. Are these on the surplus market? Dave
