Well I Have a older Winchester 30-30 (Top eject) I was cycling the action when a Small round pin fell out ( about.5" long) now the action is all sloppy and the firing Pin falls out , I im pretty sure the pin is from the lever where it go's into the bolt , so im looking for some help on how to fix it , and also a Action Diagram .

Cheers ,

You are correct, the pin holds the firing pin, and the lever in place to the bolt, although it doesn't really have any serious force acting upon it.
you can stake it back in place easily. DO NOT FORCE the pin. It is soft, and will peen, stick, and be a bugger to remove.

Item 14.
Note, you have a srew missing, or it wouldn't have fallen out see item 15

While we're (almost) on the topic of exploded diagrams - has anyone got a link to an operating manual / field stripping 'guide' for the '94 (preferably pre-64)? Wouldn't mind having one just for grins...

And now to answer my own question ;)

Download Winchester manuals from: http://www.winchesterguns.com/prodinfo/om/index.asp

Pre-64 differ in that the link pin (the link is that flat part on the bottom ahead of the lever) is held in by a screw that has to be removed (they also don't have the tang safety). Consensus seems to be that you should not do a detailed stripping of this action unless it's absolutely necessary and/or you're a gunsmith... Recommendation is to limit yourself to removing the bolt and dousing the action with a good spray cleaner (avoiding the wood stock).

If your firing pin fell out you need #17 in the kindly provided diagram.

If the finger lever pin fell out, the firing pin stays in the bolt.
