I recently disassembled the forend, magazine tube and stock from a pre-64 Model 94, because I am refinishing the wood.
Anyways, I noticed that the long, thin screw that goes through the forend barrel band is bent. The previous owner must have had it apart at least once, because sling studs had been installed. But there are no tool marks on any of the screws, so I don't think the gun was tinkered with much.
I'm just wondering why this screw would be bent; does is happen over time due to recoil perhaps?
