I own a model 94 post 64, manufactured in 1979 to be exact. I bought it about 5 years ago. The thing was brand new unfired when I got it. I've run a couple hundred rounds through it since. I've noticed from new that the gun is hard to cycle once a round is loaded in the chamber. It locks up so tight that you have to take your hand out of the loop and give it a good hard jerk with the palm of your hand. This happens with either fired rounds or unfired rounds so i know it's not a tight chamber. Any ideas or suggestions on how to remedy this?

Thanks

1) Does it cycle find with no rounds in it?
2) Is it being loaded with reloads or commercial ammo?
3) Are you sure the gun wasn't taken apart by the previous owner?

I've takien it apart and cleaned it. It's spotless. This only happens with a cartridge in the chamber, its cycles extremely smooth with an empty chamber and all cartridge are factory loads. It's done it from new

most likely the catridge guides are slightly loose. Very easy fix on a post '64 as the screws go in from the outside. See if you can feel even a thou or two play on the cartridge guides which are screwed onto each receiver wall. In any case check that the smallest screw on each side of receiver is tight. Bet that might fix it
