I have a model 94 Winchester that I think was made in 1964 according to the serial number. It's in excellent shape, could anyone give me an estimate on what its worth?

$500 to $600 seems high to me.$300 would be more in line to my thinking for a non pre 64 rifle in .30-30.

This is a more accurate estimation of value IMHO, '64 and later rifles are worth 60%-70% of what pre '64 rifles are if condition were the same going in.

An exception could be said for the post '82 USRAC AE rifles, they seem to be higher in value generally than the '64-'82. They went back to forged receivers in '82-'83. However, I know the crossbolt introduction in '92 on the AE's was not a popular change.

All good rifles in the end, some just cost more than others. Many '94 guys seem to collect and drool over pre '64 rifles, but hunt all day with the post '64's and have fun doing it.

Google Date of Manufacture Winchester Model 94 to be sure of date then price accordingly, I paid $650 for a Pre 64 in excellent condition and really nice wood.

I kind of like the EE, but in my case I saw the rifle in person before I bought it and I think it was a fair deal...not a steal but fair.

Generally the 1964 to 1968 model 94 has the worst rep for quality. On through the 1970's improvement was incremental. A late 70's 94 while not the equal of a pre 64 is a BIG improvement over a mid 60's 94.
To me $250-$300 is a proper value for a 1964 production 94 carbine unless mint in the box condition. I see them advertised on the EE for $450-$500 and can't believe anyone would pay that for one.

I sold an "as new" 1980's vintage 94 at the Calgary show, had it priced at $500, it was gone in the first hr and the guy never blinked an eye, just looked at the price tag and handed me the money...I was shocked, thought I had it priced to bring home with me to use the action for a 38-55 barrel looking for new operating system.

Now I wish I could find one of those30-30 $ 250 94's for the changeover.
