I'm not sure if this is the place to ask but my 94 rear band is not lining up for the screw seems like it got bent in the re installation of it im looking for a new band and screw anyone knows where I can get one local in edmonton or in Canada would be great thank you.

Western gun parts will have them. Try feeding something smaller through like a straight piece of coat hanger or a bamboo skewer or something to get them lined up.

There is that small notch in the barrel and magazine for the band screw to run through, if its shifted forward or back or the mag tube is slightly rotated it wont pass through. Often the wood on the forestock dries over time and shrinks slightly causing a misalignment.

Apprently not in stock hmm anywhere else?

Numrich Gun Parts.

Try taking a thin punch and shove it into the holes and move them around gentle to make sure all the notches are lined up properly.

I'm assuming that the screw is too low to engage the threads in the band. It's usually not off by much.

Something that's worked for me in the past is to run a loop of dental floss or thin fishing line between the wood and the barrel under the hole for the band. Shove your screw in and then pull up on the loop to pull the screw upwards and screw the pin to engage the threads.

If/when that works just pull out the floss.

Just spitballing here - is it on backwards? Does the screw enter from the right as God and JMB intended?

I don't think it really matters for most of the barrel band and bolt variants on the direction. Misalignment is nevertheless common and the bolt is such a fine unique thread that it is common for stripping.

Homestead parts in the US will have the band and the screw and will ship them here ... though if it fit before it should still fit, I find it hard to believe you bent either band or screw installing or removing. As mentioned there is a notch in the barrel the hole inthe band and forarm need to line up with. There is also a notch in the magazine tube that needs to line up with the notch in the barrel to allow the screw to pass through.

Everything is lined up but when the bolt comes though it is off downward and right and I'm afard maybe the band or screw is wrecked and I'd just rather replace both.

how old is it (what year) you are the first owner? A lot of times the older Winchesters get parts swapped, replaced etc, especially the bands tubes etc, I've seen quite a few that were "force fit" ... might be what you are dealing with.

Had mine 94 apart in the spring had a b!tch of a time, just like what you're having with the band screw. After trying way too many times, I had to remove the band and make sure the screw wasn't cross threading.
Ended up doing the dental floss trick as highlander mentioned. With some patients that worked.

Although Numrich warns "It may take up to 2 weeks to fulfill your order"...
Did an order Sept 23rd. and Can Post handed it to me Oct 1st.

Which was fantastic!!!

Hope that helps.
