Model seven in .350 rem mag...

Well I finally sourced some Ramshot TAC...damn that stuff is hard to find locally!

Started from minimum {58grs} and groups started tightening up around 60grs, all of a sudden flyers everywhere!. Damn windage screw on the base let go,the head of the screw cracked and I never even cranked on it:mad:, I can't wait to sh$t-can the Leupolds and put some one-piece Talleys on. It's safe to say this rifle is going to shoot with TSX's, next outing I will have to take a chrony, and we'll see how close I can get to max listed.

Nice groups :) You must be tickled with that nice rifle.
I'm having some TAC shipped to NS from BC so I can play with it, should be here in a week or so... lol
Which specific mount are you going to go with?

Finally got out with the 7KS, some results for interested folks :)
I did not test these loads for accuracy.

Conditions:
15 Feb 2012
Elevation ~600' ASL
Temp 4 Deg C
RH ~68%
Atm Pressure ~1019.5
Overcast
Wind Nil
Chronograph ProChrono Digital

Load Data:
Bullet 225 Nosler Partition
Case Remington
Primer CCI 200
Powder Reloader 15
Crimp None

59 grains: 2645 fps, no pressure signs.
60 grains: duplicate 2645, no pressure signs.
61 grains: 2704 fps, slight primer cratering.
62 grains: 2772 fps, no primer cratering but slightly sticky extraction and shine on case head.
Had 63 loaded up but no need to fire it after seeing 62 grains ;)

I also had some Remington 200 grain factory on hand. 3 fired over the chrono:
2624 fps
2583 fps
2594 fps
Avg 2600 fps
The three round group measured 7/8 of an inch center to center.

Will be testing with TAC within the next few weeks and will follow up.

Good report and pics.
2700MV with a 225 partition using ReL15 is about what is expected from my 350RMs - it's a good big game load and you are there - congrats.
I wasn't too far off with my previous comment (warning) that 62grs could be at or close to max with even a 225gr. Looks all good and also will be real interested in how TAC works for u.

That factory ammo is enemic - supposed to go out the door at 2775. I'm sure it'll work fine for deer particularly. But your 225gr handloads are superior by quite a bit. Using 3031 I've found it easy to get to an actual 2775 factory duplication load with 200gr core lokts - even with short 18 1/2" and 20" barrels.

How was the felt recoil at the bench? I bet the kick wasn't too bad - especially considering that brake.

Plugging the numbers into the calculator over at handloads.com shows the 225 partition at 2700 to have a point blanks range of ~250 yards (+2.61" @ 130 and +2.46" @ 250) :)
Recoil with the factory stuff was quite mild. The better half put 4 rounds of the factory stuff downrange and also commented that it was very manageable. She also fires my 308 Win 700 Ti @ ~6 pounds off the bench too ;)
The 225 Partition @ 2774 was starting to get a bit stiff ;)
As I mentioned before, the recoil pad on this gun is very very stiff. I will be replacing it and I'm considering the Limbsaver low profile grind to fit. My intent is to shorten the LOP just a bit by going with the low profile, and felt recoil couldn't be any worse than it is now with the hocky puck pad on there ;)

I was a bit surprised with the results, with all the raves on the net about TAC and the 350RM...

So, over the next couple weeks I plan to run the Reloader 15 for accuracy. My plan is to run ladder testing at 300 yards from my max pressure tested load of 61 grains down to about 58 grains and see what I get. These 225 Nosler partitions ain't cheap, but it sure is fun shooting them through that rifle ;) :)
