BwahahahahahahaI started a new thread.

I've seen Type 97 "sniper" at Lever Arms today. You bet, it is non-restricted. Price tag is over 3K though. But it is scoped. And it is fitted with bipod. It looks very different from the usual type97 because of its length, if not for tag type97 I would think it is different rifle. Anybody ever tried those?
If Marstar CAN get ahold of these, I am sure they will. They've got to know they can make a real dent in the market and still make huge profit at far lower price tags than lever. Man, I gotta wonder, how does Lever even stay in business?? Noticed they have some Norc 311s in .222 (only 5 made apparently). One thing though, best deal I've seen on a Ruger 10/22 is lever I think.
I guess there is so few of those in the country. Its 26" barrel (sigh). Why is it in 223 caliber though? If it is sniper, wasn't it supposed to be something 7.62-ish?
yep, you're rightIn the chinese army, it is more of a designated marksman rifle, I think.
The QBU88 (also known as Type 88) 5.8mm semi-automatic rifle was introduced in the 1990s as a successor to the Type 79/85 7.62mm sniper rifle. The weapon entered PLA and law enforcement service in 1997 under the designation Type 88. Despite being known as a sniper rifle in PLA, the QBU88 is more of a military designated marksman rifle rather than a dedicated sniper rifle.
