Hello Gents,

I'm hoping this isn't a really stupid question. Was looking at the great flow chart made up by 41 Colt on this thread

Thx a bunch 41 BTW :D

Now, this is where I get confused. For a Modèle 1892 Lebel revolver, it was manufactured between 1892 and 1924.

So according to the flow chart only revolvers manufactured from 1892 to 1897 are eligible for Antique Firearm Status?

Am I off-base on this? Or is it when the model was introduced?

Again my apologies if this has been covered before.

Best regards,

The date of manufacture is what is important.

Crazy as it is, the very same gun made in 1897 is restricted/prohibited if manufactured in 1898. Nutty ain't it?

The date of manufacture for each individual revolver is what determines if it is an antique or not, regardless of the model. The ones made in 1897 and earlier are antique, the ones made in 1898 and later are restricted.

Yes it's based on the serial number which determines the year it was manufactured in. If it was the other way the Colt SAA Model 1873 wouldn't be antique because they are still made by Colt today.
