modern BLR users?

Personally I don't care for BLR's but lots of guys do. I find them muzzle light offhand and the triggers are awful!! If I were looking for a .223 the BLR would be one of the last choices, a bolt gun would be much better in a varmint calibre to me. A .22 centerfire is supposed to be accurate and too many things work against that in a BLR, in my opinion. Others may disagree.

That is important for primer ignition reliability.

I'm scheduled to function test on the range soon. I'm not expecting any issues based on my manual testing.
My post-gunsmithing testing will include NATO-spec ball ammunition, which have hard primers by design.
My earlier prior testing with my BLR using NATO-spec ball ammunition had 100% ignition reliability.


Total cost for shop work, return ground shipment via Canada Post and taxes was $157.50, charged to my VISA account.
No parts required, he tunes the existing parts. Off-season-peak turnaround was prompt.

I would definitely recommend his BLR trigger work to others based on my experience to date.

Tiriaq: What are your dislikes about the BLR design?
Always interested in issues I can avoid, minimize or mitigate.

I own other designs too, so I don't consider the BLR the penultimate solution to all rifle applications.

It has it's niche. I'm very happy with the accuracy and function of my 2013 production year example.
