Modern Muzzleloading pistols

As a follow-up Snider Shooters post about his 1911 ML (Jan 1 2022), I was wondering if others would be willing to post their modern ML pistols built or designed of 1911, S&W41 or Ruger Mk. Wonder if there are any gunsmiths in Canada doing these conversions.

As well, are people using these in any completion in Canada? I think this would be fun.

Take a look on Youtube at Hickock45 shooting a Glock something or other with BP loads and you'll pretty soon realise why there are no factory-made BP versions of modern handguns.

It looks about as much fun as getting your head stuck in an elevator door.

I think the OP is referring to ML pistols made with grip frames styled like modern target pistols, along with modern adjustable sights.

This what I have as mentioned above. Thought I would at least supply a picture.
1911 Essex frame.
Muzzle loader barrel 45 caliber.
Slid doesn’t move. Barrel is held in place like every 1911, with the take down lever.
I would actually like to see pictures of you hat others have. I can’t be the only one with a pistol like this.

In the U.S. or here it is classed as a semi auto pistol so how is it getting around any laws. The frame can be equipped with a new barrel, slide and springs anytime putting it back to 45 acp.

Some of the ones made in the US used a blank frame that duplicated the shape of a 1911, but was unique to the percussion or flint pistol.

I do like that first flintlock.
As far as accuracy goes with mine it definitely impresses you. The barrel on it is quite heavy with excellent target sites. A friend of mine actually used as a practice pistol before he went to the nationals. 13 grs of 3 f will give excellent accuracy. I have seen one similar in New Brunswick a few years ago so ones like mine are around.
