I`m helping one of my buddies from Canmore build a Modern Sporter. It will be the first time I have been involved in a build from scratch so I'd like to check that he hasn't missed any parts (he has been busy cleaning his other guns so I'm trying to help out):

We have:

1) ATRS upper / lower set.
2) Barrel
3) Trigger
4) Handguard
5) Buttstock
6) BCG (complete)
7) Forward assist
8) Muzzle brake
9) Pistol grip
10) Mag release
11) Bolt release
12) Charging handle
13) End plate and castle nut
14) Barrel nut
15) JP SCS

By my reckoning we still need:

1) Gas block
2) Gas tube
3) Dust cover
4) AR15 Lower pin and spring kit
5) Safety (I know we could get that as part of a lower parts kit but he has a special one he likes picked out)

Have we missed anything required to complete the build? He has lots of scopes and magazines so no issues there. Its a ways for me to get to Canmore so I want to make sure we have everything required to avoid multiple trips.

When my friend from Canmore was getting ready to put his Alberta Tactical together, we laid out all the parts where they would go without the receiver on the floor. After we where done, we realized there was no castle nut or gas tube pin. When he ordered those parts and got them, we did it again and could not find something missing. I feel it was an effective method for figuring out if anything was forgotten.

3) Trigger - should be included in LPK
9) Pistol grip - should be included in LPK
10) Mag release - should be included in LPK
11) Bolt release - should be included in LPK
14) Barrel nut - search an handguard with barrel nut included
2) Gas tube - the length depend on your barrel
4) AR15 Lower pin and spring kit - should be included in LPK

Nice idea, but the receiver is still in ATRSs milling machine and as I mentioned it will be the first time I have been involved in a build (I don't know what I don't know at this point type of deal).

Of course, the parts being in Canmore don't help......

Normally that would work, but:

3) My buddy is fussy and want a Geisselle S3G trigger for faster boom boom.
9) Folks in Canmore have big hands so he has a specific grip picked out that he wants.
10) Got some fancy dancy V7 part for that.
11) Upgraded Phase 5 BAD lever caught his eye.
14) He doesn't like heavy rifles so the barrel nut will be titanium.
15) It'll be rifle length, probably a V7 Extreme Environment.
4) These parts are hopefully all thats required after all the upgrades are removed from a full lower parts kits (small pins / springs etc etc)
