Modern Sporter - Build Discussions

Shaun, how many receivers have the pins installed and have passed final checks? Are you guys nearing the halfway point (s/n 100) yet?
Serial numbers 101-180ish are at anodizing.

No worries Shaun, my serial # is 15,
And as you guys stated, the first 10 are for employees, I figured that makes me # 5.

I expect your lower will be able to ship tomorrow.

If we wait until the uppers are anodized and ready to ship with the lowers, will you be able to offer custom cerakote colours? Or should I start looking for a cerakote dealer here?

They already offer many CeraKote options. It would be best to let them know ASAP as to prevent your parts from being oiled, which makes it much harder for the coating to adher as well.

My lower is finished and shipping as we speak, just received a BCM MCMR 15 handguard today (super impressed with it, awesome quality) so things are coming together nicely!

Only component not confirmed and purchased is the barrel....what profile is the best compromise between accuracy and weight? Don't really want a pencil profile but not a 2.5lb tube either...

I've been mulling over my dream build and when it comes to barrels I keep coming back to the BSF`s which are carbon wrapped.

Not cheap but they are light and should be accurate even as they heat up.

As mentioned, we have started to ship lowers out.
For those who are wanting their lowers shipped as soon as they are ready please contact the shop directly so we can accommodate this.
Many guys are wanting us to hold their lowers until the uppers are done to save some shipping costs. We are amenable either way, just need to know your preference.

Who wants a stainless 18.6” .277 Wolverine barrel for their Modern Sporter?

The U. S. Army is testing out new 6.8 cartridges other then the SPC......hmmmmmm I wonder which one it is?

you may as well go all in and get a fully wrapped barrel.
I’m putting a 20 inch CA on mine.Im expecting an easy sub MOA shooter.

I’ve also had the Proof CFW and it was a nice piece of kit.

And...*drumroll*...it's here! Very, very nicely done. And the outfit doing the anodizing knows what they are doing as it is fantastic.

Congrats to Rick and his team at ATRS, this appears to far to be a home run.

I have just change to a lightweight BCG without adjustable gas system. Idk if this will work fine with rifle length gas system and standard buffer system. Anyone have idea on this?
