Thanks!Looks good
No, generally it will just require a little more care to detail when installing it to ensure proper alignment. After it's aligned, and you confirm it via firing it, then put a little blue loctite on the threads of the set screws one at a time and you're set.
I doubt that. Fastenal carries a variety of them, a lot of lower parts kits come with them. The ones that are in LPKs and come long, I think it's like ordering action screws for a Remington 700. They usually come long, because it's easy to cut them down.. but if you've ever tired to stretch a bolt that's too short... whole other story.
And that being said, absolutley nothing wrong with the washer or spacer system either. Long as your grip is holding firm with no wiggle, life is good.
Hahaha, yup thanks for the honesty.
A somewhat local shop has one in stock so I'm going to go take a really good look at it before I decide to put money out or not. It is different but I sometimes don't mind different.
Main thing that concerns me without physically handling it before buying is build quality. But it is made in the USA. Still doesn't mean it's any good though.
Or perhaps I'm just having a temporary relapse from an old head injury and it's impairing my judgment... ???? Happens from time to time lol..
Ya I'll probably do the right thing and buy a JP handguard.
Have you looked at the BCM MCMR? I have the 15" model, very impressed with it so far (granted it's not installed and tested yet) and it is super slim + light. Not sure what your budget is though, as it will tip the scales around $300.

As far as I can tell they are...
Maple Ridge Armoury SLW. I think it has been replaced by their V1. I have the same hand guard on an upper and I am quite happy with the fit, finish and feel of their products. What type of handguard is that? Nice clean lines...I like it
