I have the same problem with a milspec cover rod. Problem is i've installed it as deep as it goes and i am not interested in bringing a $500 reciever that close to a grinder. How in the name of Zeus' butthole do you get the rod out without destroying everything?
Also, my BCG doesn't pop the cover open when I cycle it (BAD enhanced M16 BCG with a milspec cover).
Build up either surface with a bead of epoxy or JB and you should be good to go.
For the price we paid for these sets, backyard gunsmithing isn't something that should happen.

Wasn’t it already said that it was happening because of the port, being wider to accommodate the 50 beo ?I hope its something that can be fixed with the FA uppers. Seems easy enough to fix anyways. But also fairly specific issue.

And that the FA model would not have this enlarged port and therefore the issue should be solved?
Agreed, but it’s us the backyard gunsmiths that are forcing us to do it. The Manufacturers have machined these for Mil-Spec parts and nothing more so we need to give them a pass. Build with mil-spec parts and leave them alone and they will undoubtedly provide years of trouble free use.For the price we paid for these sets, backyard gunsmithing isn't something that should happen.
