Modern Sporter builds Q&A

Ill stick to my Beowulf's an 10/30s, Hell will freeze over before I run 5 round mags. Range queens dont understand why some people need FA
I need a FA , but I don’t think it’s for the same reason as most of you guys.
When I hunt , I always have one in the chamber, ready to go.
FA for me , is just for cool points.. ha ha

I’m replying only because Rick will delete this anyways lol.

I’d rather clear the jam, not force it in. To each their own. I didn’t say FA was useless, but I’ll never need it to have my rifle function. I only commented because you said 5 round mags are useless (they aren’t to some of us). I’m also not sure why you had to start name calling lol, that’s just rude!

I’ve shot outside the range, never on a two way range though.

Taking that pin out is a Beaach!
The small screw is locktited in.
You have to grip on the needle nose with the grip of Thor :)

After removing the pin , I got the U:L together, but it wasn’t easy.
You have to tip the upper on a coward angle to the lower( kinda like putting them together backwards.
The front will not pivot, once the back pin is out.
So now for the weird stuff.
Riding the CH will allow the trigger to work.
Slamming the CH will not engage the trigger.

Trigger works with a mag when you release the bolt via the bolt release, but not when you release it manually.. (dummy rnds)

Then it’s opposite on an empty mag.
Also the maritime bolt catch is very stiff.

I think the trigger is causing all these issues and is a no go.

Hahaha! You just made my day :) Yes, that pin IS difficult to remove.

My pmags will seat, but with force. Definitely not drop free. Metal mags won't seat at all.

Can you email us with some pictures of the inside of the mag well please, info@albertatacticalrifle.com OR if you're local, please bring it by and we can take a look. All that I've tried have dropped every mag (even ones that are usually a pain) without any resistance. Clearly I haven't tried yours though.

Anybody have any blems in the finish?

The upper receivers were not oiled prior to shipping out, the lowers got a quantity of oil. Please wipe them down with a little gun oil (I prefer G96) to saturate the anodizing, and then if there are any issues after this, please send a picture to info@albertatacticalrifle.com (preferably a couple of pictures from multiple angles)

Mine has a bit of overlap as well:

My Pmag won't drop free either but the magazine rivet is rubbing inside the magwell. I blame the liberals for this problem.

I loathe the rivets... I avoid them, and buff them down when i can't avoid them. But in a hurry to check mags dropping free (see above post) I slammed a couple pmags in without checking first... now I've got that same mark. I know it was inevitable but... still. In a free nation, rivets wouldn't damage the firearm finish, because they have no business being in a magazine!

Had the same issue on Stag10. Pry the lower part of the opening (flared bottom of the hole) out a little with a flat screwdriver. Worked on the 4 mags I had for the stag

It's perfectly legal if you only have 5 rounds in it. 10 rounds is legal for hunting predators.

Just found out that the Brownells lightweight BCG won’t open the dust cover. Regular BCG works fine.

I assume the ejected round will open it right?
