Did you have to do anything special to run 7.62x39 with the FA upper. "? I would like to do the same with my second build.

Why would it be any different than any other build?
x39 barrel, bolt and mags and you're done.

Are the FA uppers shipping now?
I have not been notified.

If it applies to your situation and you missed it, Shaun posted that if you ordered an upper and lower they are not sending out the upper until the lower is ready, this is so they can test fit them prior to shipping.

Alright, I've made it through the entire first production run, EVERYONE has been contacted for any and all receiver types, slick side, forward assist, doesn't matter.

If you are in the first production run and you have ordered a forward assist upper, check your email. If you don't have an email, now is the time to contact us: info@albertatacticalrifle.com

For those of you in the second and third production runs, we are trying to avoid sending uppers and lowers out separately. By shipping them together, it gives us one last chance to go over them for quality control and make sure everything has a nice tight fit.

Appreciate the quick response, I just wanted to make sure, I’ve never owed an AR before so I just needed to know before buying my BCG and barrel. I have some 7.62x39 mags from my XCR which should work.

I updated my picture post above with a parts list.

I originally had issues getting the SI FA assembly to work. The plunger would stay sticking out into the receiver and jam up the bcg.

I shortened the plunger slightly on one and that messed it up. This one I took apart and removed a bit of material so the plunger would fold back in a little more.

Works properly now but there are tons of other FA assemblies available so I wouldn't reccomend dinking around getting a Strike Industries one to work. I was just determined because those were the ones I had already bought for my builds.

Thanks. I am in the same boat with the SI forward assist, but I'll be getting a different one shortly. My 6.5 grendel upper is waiting on a few other things too still.
