The “FRT isn’t law guy’s” sure disappear fast when you ask for any legitimate eveidence that you can still use the firearm other than there own legal opinion.
Odd statement, considering the Modern Sporter is not a named variant in any legislation in the firearms act or criminal code. There is no law that prohibits you from enjoying your Modern Sporter.
Laws by nature don't "allow" you to do something. Laws are prohibitive by nature.
The firearms lab considers it a variant and prohibited. Going to end up with a hell of court case if u take it out.

Fixed it for you.
For clarity.
Our Modern line of rifles were NOT mentioned at all in the OIC, which IS the law regardless of how draconian it is.
Our Modern line of rifles had the FRT's unlawfully changed and redacted by the boys at the SFSS (rcmp firearms lab) However the FRT is NOT law, nor is it binding according to the first page of the FRT website that is at long last available for view by the average serf.
That all being said I agree with Runkles assessment that it could prove very spendy to prove yourself right.
Production, sales and delivery are under a cease and desist order from the EX CFO of Alberta and until we get back in front of Judge Gagne have our hands tied.
Meanwhile 18 months and 250000.00 later we are still waiting for the wheels of justice to start to turn again.

Is this the same firearms lab that did NOT consider it a variant for months/years before the OIC and stated same in writing?
I used the lawyer advice included in the package from the ccfr and asked what happens if I get caught and charged while using one they said they will not cover you in court so take that for whatever its worth
What about the modern hunters? I know a guy who wants to sell his but isn't sure what's allowed.
The big question in my mind is were they incompetent before May 1 2020 or after?
The very same "lab" and the very same clowns that did the inspection and determination of legal classification.

I am not a lawyer but think if the firearm you are caught with was not an OIC prohibited firearm, then you would have some grey area to challenge them on support of defense. If it was an OIC prohibited firearm, you would have no claim at all.
