Modern sporters on EE

read by her drunk lawyers at 4 am holding the delete button?

Shooting is legal*. Majority of guns are legal by all standards other then by name.

Fact is if it's named the wrong thing, it's illegal, has ZERO to do with function or feature. That is a pathetic attempt at law making IMO

No her aid actually smashed her blackberry cellphones with a hammer. I think chemical treatment was applied to hard drives too lol. The actions of an innocent person?

I agree on you with the pathetic law-making.

Curious..... if the FRT really holds no water, why didnt importers bring in things like the semi only CZ 805 Bren or the RPD regardless of there prohibited FRT.?

Our CBSA border-cops most definitely treat the FRT as law.

Murray retired for 2 or 3 days then went back as a contractor.
And yes he is named in some of the actions personally. Hope he has deeeeeep pockets, he is gonna need them.

OP the OIC does not mention any of our Modern lineup of rifles, only the illegally altered and redacted FRT has been changed from NR to prohib. I suspect a few LE will make a deal if you get checked but any that have more than 1 IQ point won't when presented with the substantiating paperwork we provide. The Crown does not like looking bad and until the LAW states a change in status any charges should be dropped right away. YMMV however.
I'm sure Bill Edder had his hand in a lot of this as well.

Are you serious? The boarder bobbies are power tripping so hard they won't even let certain jack knives in the country.

100% serious. People here are claiming that the RCMP wont lay charges based off an FRT but apparently at the same time implying wrongfully classified guns like the CZ 805 cant be imported because boarder control works off the FRT.

I don't think anyone is claiming that the deeply flawed FRT holds no water. The unfortunate truth is that for many years the pony police have been claiming it was law and many LE agencies and officers still think that the FRT IS law, when in fact it isn't. The rcmp only admitted this fact about 4 years ago but is does take time to re-educate those in the field.
Certainly there have been cases where a LE agent had charges laid against an individual based on erroneous reading and interpretation of the FRT and the law. The calamity escalated when an anti gun crown decided to let a judge sort it out. The case was bounced out of court but it still cost the fellow a bunch of money. The settlement needless to say against the city was never disclosed, but was substantial.

Regardless of the commodity or actions EVERYONE is always at risk from malicious prosecution from the police if the wrong badge wearing individual is involved. Thankfully these member of LE are few. I have spent more time in the back seat of a cruiser than I care to admit to on firearms related issues and in every occasion have been able to demonstrate to the officer that his understanding of gun law is wrong. YMMV

Because import permit from foreign affair requires a FRT. One of the reasons of flipping things to prohibit is to stop commercial importation. Theoretically, one can submit a judicial review application if import permit is denied based on a prohibited FRT, or that your individual importation is stopped at CBSA.

Practically, who wants to do it? you can certainly try to import a rifle with 18.5" bbl and start a fight with the CBSA with some lawyer muscle. Distributors are not going start a fight with foreign affairs and RCMP - simply economically not making sense.

My point is, is that if cbsa won't let a perfectly legal jack knife in the country, why would you try to import a rifle that's on the rcmp bad list regardless of whether you think it's legal or not? If you haven't noticed, cbsa doesn't seem to care much about the law.

Just one simple question, did anyone here shoot ATRS MS at their local range after the FRT prohibited it illegally? If yes, name one. At least my local RO told me don't bring any FRT prohibit firearms to the range.

My club says it's up to me, they aren't responsible for what guns I bring. They weren't familiar with the modern sporter but basically told me it's my responsibility.
