Modern SVT-40 magazine

I haven’t heard anything good about current reproduction mags yet. If there is a good one I would be interested

I bought a modern repro mag a few years back, didn't work at all when i received it. Took hours and hours of hand fitting and filing to make it work about 90% of the time. Gave up as I figured that was good enough for the range.

I have a few repro mags that did work until the back tabs started breaking off. I had them re-welded but have not tried them. Was a real pain to spend good money on mags and they not work. These mags were from a batch from Corwin arms years ago. I had high hopes for them at the time.

I have 4 SVT-40's with 'original'/WWII magazines and even just trying to mix and match those is hit and miss when it comes to how well they seat and feed. The issue isn't just the reproductions it's the looser tolerances from wartime production of the rifles and magazines.

Nope. Issue is that original magazines were numbered to a rifle for a reason. After refurbishing rifle were tested with replaced magazines and latter were serialised to rifle. Mags got mixed later in storage and during pinning for Canada. Even with mixed mags in 99% original mag would work on any SVT. Most issues ppl encounter with mags are not mag related, it's about having action cleaned and lubed and assembled according to original manual and not according to YouTubers who know no chit about rifle, but make good impression of spreading wisdom (I'm referring to "round trick for carrier removal" and similar BS)
