Ya... I hear that. I'll order one....
If the barrel change out is so easy, why not just buy a couple of cheap barrels?
Why would you need to uppers?
What I don't understand is how so many people allegedly seem to have problems with these rifles, yet only a few have actually posted anything of substance. I am certain ATRS would look after them if in fact there really was a problem. Between myself and 6 friends we have a total of 12 complete Modern series rifles. Most of us have both a MH and MV with matched serial numbers. I have a 2nd upper for my MH. Not one of us has a problem in the least with accuracy or reliability. Now with that said none of us consider ourselves to be in any way a gun plumber, so have followed the suggestions for lube and ammo that ATRS has provided. Nothing changed, no mods and miraculously the guns run flawlessly.
IIRC ATRS is saying that they have over 1000 of their Modern series rifles out in the public now. If they really were that bad I doubt they would still be in business. Do the math, that a fair number of dollars and people tend to vote with their wallets.
What am I missing here? The rifles work, the back up and service is top tier from what I have heard in the event of a problem. They continue to upgrade and improve their guns. I am at a loss.
Including myself I've known 4 others that have had issues with their modern hunter. The accuracy although not great was ok but the reliability was not. Neither of these should be an issue out of a 5k gun. There are many other reports from other users who have had issues as well. It's not just ATRS haters that have posted their problems with them. Again it's like rolling a dice if you're going to get a good one or not. At that price point it's not worth it. The varminter has been better and I have a feeling benefited from some of the growing pains with the hunter.
Just like First Aid, Fire, Earthquakes, and every other thing we train for. Its for the safety of my family and to be ready to face any emergency with a good skill set.
Wish there was more training courses offered in the Edmonton area, the only ones I ever hear about are in Southern Alberta.
I work shift so 3-gun and those types of things don't work well for me as I end up missing half of the days. I can always take holidays for a two day course though, just need more of them close to home.

I suspect the varminter version benefits more from the standardization with the AR15 which doesn't exist with the AR308 rifles. Hence there aren't the issues. Like I said before, I wouldn't touch the 308 MH version but the 223/5.56 varmint version may be a viable option. Plus in 308 the BCL 102 pretty much ends any argument for buying the MH.
With the recent aftermarket and some actual support from Bushmaster (Freedom group), I'm actually starting to really like the ACR.
You're probably right about the MV having less issues, both from it being a little more standardized and because they have lot's of experience building high end AR-15's but ...
Well, using that rationale I guess Norinco also has lot's of experience building AR-15 carbines!!![]()
ACR 9.2
X95 9.9
Thats with sling, optic and empty mag.
Can one get spare parts easily for ACR?
