Still have to build the magazine housing and modify the trigger guard, but I would like to share the new updates with you guys/gals.

So it started like this:

Then it was modified to this:

This is it now:

I am waiting for parts to build the magazine housing (well) that will attach to the existing one & the trigger guard.

OH MY GOD, its black and scary!

Hahahahahahaha, that is ####ING AWESOME. I don't want to pry but, what was the total end cost of that beautiful firearm?

You know it did not cost me that much in $$ considering that some parts I removed and sold covered for their replacement cost. Lots of time invested but I really enjoy this type of challenge and dont mind spending time to put it the way I want it.

Thats actually really resonable, I've got a stock 597, if I wanted to change it, it would probably be easier to sell the stock 597 and start like you....well here's to hoping! Again, nicely done.

That looks amazing, is what I would say if I wasn't completely afraid of it because the flash hider makes it an assault weapon used only against the weak and defenseless.

jk nice job :p

Yep that's a nice AR replica, and the good thing about it,NON RESTRICTED.

Good job !

Yep!! That is the main thing . Non-Restricted. It will look even more like an AR as soon I install the magazine housing. I have this part in transit:

Of course some modifications will be needed but I really enjoy this type of challenge ! :D

i love the pmag.... is that brass stuffed into it below the actual mag?

i'm also curious about the first mag, was that just a ten round glued to an airsoft mp5?

also, the ar housing, what is it originally/ who makes it? are you going to cut the bottom of the receiver away to install it?

details man! hahaha looks awesome. Good work!

The first mag is the regular 10 round mag fitted to a steel body airsoft MP5 mag. The second one is a regular 10 rnds fitted to an airsoft black zytel M-16 mag. The see thru shows fake ammo.

Still NOT sure yet how I am gonna fit the mag housing to the receiver, I will have to figure out when I receive the part. Shall Not be a major problem as I have a special way of fusing plastic parts together so it look like one piece.

Did you start with a 597 vtr heavy barrel with the pictanny rail already on it? (Excuse my ignorance if that's how the 597vtr's come stock)

Actually the picatinny rail is monted on the receiver not the barrel. Yes it was a regular 97 VTR bull barrel that was reduced in diameter (turned on a lathe) by a machinist to fit the.750 front sight and handguard front cap.

Some more modifcations as been done to it, and there is some more to come as I have finally decided to keep it (until ALL modifications are done). Will see after if I keep or sell it to start another project.

Here is some pics of it as it is at the moment:
