Modifications to PAL gun to be non-pal

in the world there are likely hundreds of things perfectly legal to buy but mixing or modifying will get you in trouble, so what if the screw changes the velocity, you said its OK as it sits and under 500fps, works as you want and you are not needing more velocity so what is your point?

if it works leave it Im curious if the are pistol is legal for hunting? in 50 years never come across anyone hunting with a air pistol and not sure a CO would be happy with using it
I take a Crosman 1322 hunting with me when hunting the bush, works very well on grouse for din dins and noisy chattering squirrels that are giving me away to the deer. Clearly stated in the Alberta regs that it is legal if under 495 fps.

Today I learned my car can drive 130km/hr on a 100km/hr highway just by pressing down harder on a pedal with my foot. Does the RCMP know that my car can go illegal speeds in a school zone?
Just wait until everyone has an electric car.
- The EU have hinted that (along with constant tracking) the roads will be safer since the vehicle will know what the max speed is (and be limited)

I'd be slapping myself for even posting this question if I were the OP. Sometimes it's mind boggling what people even ask on here.
Why? Its a legitimate question, so far nobody has answered with the exception of insulting me. I decided to talk with an outside source, someone who actually knows something about airguns and it is fine as long as you leave it alone. The gun is shooting 490 fps with the lightest pellet I have. Forgive me for making sure I don't have legal problems while enjoying a hobby. Do you all run around packing handguns because why should you be a RCMP "bootlicker"? That's all I got out of this thread.

Been a member here longer then most of you and owned thousands of restricted and non-restricted guns, and I have tried to abide by the laws set out in Canada while doing it.

Like I said. You are responsible to making sure if you fiddle around, that you are within the laws. That isn't insulting. It shouldnt be. Well needs to add another screw because of not reading the manual and understanding what the screw does.

A distributor spent money to get companies to make Canada compliant guns.

Nothing stops you drilling out the transfer port, adding heavier springs, or changing barrels. Even as kids we did this. Other than it is your responsibility to keep it within the limit. Heck Dad used to tell me how made his semi auto 22, auto with a match. Everything is do able. If you want.

Ive been a member longer than you and tried to protect airgun rights for years. Been banned 3 times on the airgun forum. Sadly this is how we lose. Many ignored me, then airguns got roped in S21. Will be death of ALL sub 500 FPS airguns. It is close to happening. Rules had to be made for slides and such, because criminals were using airgun frames and putting real firearm slides on it.

Someone does something, announces it online, saying there needs to be changes. Then RCMP goes hmm then makes more restricting rules.

When in fact, if you don't announce it, how will they know?

Thank you and I see your point. I just got back into airguns after years of messing with firearms, so my experience with this is a little limited. Didn't get a manual with the gun unfortunately as I bought it second hand.

Alot of it even cops don't know the rules. I don't know anyone charged with having a modified airgun without proper license. Even the power adjusting parts are un regulated. Like don't need a PAL for a spring for PAL related airgun. Onus always been on you. Likely it be the community that will rat you out.

But there are registered restricted airguns, back in the LGR days and people were stupid to registry them.

At least you got a chronograph. And did your due diligence. But nothing to worry about.

I know I was tuning a regulator. 2 shots over 50 shots went over and they freaked, and that was mid way. So if it was testing it. Likely be under. Unless it was that freak certian psi.

Dads never stopped me. It warned me with a flashing red light on the hud.

But the car didn't stop me from stopping in the middle of the road. Select max power, awd and launched it at full power to hit 100kph in few seconds on my 70 kph street.

I am a big airgun fan, specifically competition level PCP's and I am my own mechanic and tester. I cannot even remember anymore what were the factory tunes on my air guns, messing around I call that evolution.

The modifications you did could unintentionally even make a better performer from that pistol. It is a very common mod to unrestrict the air path and widen the valve dwell time adjustability.
Pick your pellet weight, and chrony the speed to your wannabe level. You already know what is a law and no going around.
Bare in mind, if the LEO really want to hurt you, they will send the gun and test it in Ottawa lab with a most lightest pellet. No win-win there.

If the screw in your interest is smaller then 3mm you can lock it with nail polish - red color looks cool but I like yellow as well. If the screw is larger let say 3-4-5 mm I would suggest a blue loctite. Both methods holds the vibrations well.

Thank you, I have it set where I want it now. I will try that nail polish idea. I thought of locktite, but it takes a fair amount of shoot-adjust 1/16 a turn and try again. Took probably 15 shots to get it sitting at 490 with the lightest pellet I had. Still shoots heavy pellets hard enough to bury them in a 2x4.
